As a specialist supplier staffed by an experienced team of experts using the best technology, we produce PTFE compounds by mixing in additives such as glass, carbon, carbon fibre, ceramics and Ekonol, or metallic components such as stainless steel and bronze. In addition to compounds for our own production, we also deliver semi-finished parts including rods, pipes, and plates material.
Moulding and sintering make the PTFE material ready for machining
At moulding the delivered PTFE powder is compressed under high pressure to seal the material and prepare it for sintering. Precise process control during the moulding operation helps assure the quality and prevent the formation of cracks in the finished material. We use both hydraulic and isostatic pressing in our moulding department, that this ensures the highest levels of productivity and quality.
Sintering is a process in which the pressed PTFE material is heated to produce the finished raw material – ready for machining. Because the optimal structure in the PTFE material is achieved through correct heating and cooling, the procedure has to be closely controlled and monitored. Our experience and know-how in the fields of moulding and sintering allow us to produce an inherently stable raw material that makes it possible to manufacture end products with minuscule tolerances that meet even the highest demands.
